Our client is a Large, established, heavy metal; Design and Manufacturing company in the Tyrone area who has been doing exceptionally well throughout 2020 - and has a confirmed order book that brings them well into July of next year.

The role of Warehouse Manager is to oversee in the implementation and management of the company's Supply Chain requirements, including the deployment of training, active business improvement within supply chain material flow and other duties that will enhance the organizational efficiency and support a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This role is reporting directly to the Supply Chain Director

The role of Warehouse Manager:

  • In collaboration with Purchasing Manager, maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet production requirements
  • Develop and implement an action plan for all aspects of the company's Supply Chain process improvement program in relation to material flow, including but not limited to Kanban, 5S, JIT deliveries and continuous improvements
  • Work with departmental managers and Purchasers in identifying areas for process improvement events, establishing objectives for each project, and selecting cross-functional team members and leaders
  • Manage goods in teams on 3 sites, continually monitor and improve in collaboration with function managers
  • Manage material handlers across 3 sites, continually monitor and improve in collaboration with function managers
  • Facilitate workshops and/or other forums to focus improvement, transfer knowledge, and engage team members and leaders in activities supporting the continuous improvement transformation
  • Coordinate and supervise receiving and line side storage procedures
  • Promote and develop effective partnerships working with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve continuous improvement in material flow
  • Take charge and oversee yearly full site stock counts
  • Monitor Material flow on all sites and lead any improvement projects
  • Works in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Materials Team
  • Lead, manage, control and develop all employees (including SOM, absence, performance management, grievances and Health and Safety Training) using SMART objectives during regular review and feedback meetings
  • Manage the performance of the team by setting goals and objectives, review KPI's, coaching and performance improvement
  • Enforce attendance and timekeeping policies by completing return to work interviews and relevant disciplinary action
  • Encourage involvement in cross functional teams and company initiatives (Health and safety, charity, problem solving teams)
  • Assess and evaluate training needs of direct reports, ensure training and development needs are met within departmental plans
  • Complete any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of the business, based on business or customer requirements

Essential criteria needed for the Warehouse Manager:

  • Educated to third level
  • 5+ years proven experience in a similar equipment manufacturing environment where you have gained a minimum of 3+ years' experience at supervisory level
  • In depth knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures and a proven history managing a materials management team
  • Excellent understanding of Purchasing procedures
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Outstanding communication (oral/written)
  • Ability to make presentations
  • Ideally this person will come from a heavy metal parts component manufacturing environment
