Working closely with our Food Manufacturing Client, we are currently recruiting a Technical Manager to join our clients growing team in their Newry facility. The Technical Manager will maintain, develop and review the food safety management, quality systems, animal welfare compliance and food safety culture on site.

Your new role as a Technical Manager

  • Maintain, develop and review the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with all industry standards, customer codes of practice and legal requirements
  • Oversee the day to day running of the technical department within production areas, including accurate and timely completion of all checks and associated paperwork / electronic forms
  • Lead all food safety audits on site and facility document and factory review and provide confidence to our customers in relation to compliance
  • HACCP team leader
  • Carry out root cause investigation into internal and external non-conformances
  • Ensure all corrective actions arising from audits are documented and closed out in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Develop and support QC teams in production
  • Carry out internal audits as required
  • Liaise with relevant departments and internal sites to maintain effective production and food safety compliance
  • Ensure all laboratory sampling and micro trending of results and management of retests are completed and accurate
  • Ensure Hygiene at site is to a high standard to ensure compliance and prevent GMP issues
  • Identify issues in relation to building fabrication, GMP, site controls and food safety issues and ensure these are translated to the management team as required
  • Maintain good working relationships with all customers and ensure all issues are dealt with in a timely manner and translated to the wider organization as required

What you will need to succeed as a Technical Manager

  • 3 years proven experience in a Quality Management environment
  • Experience with internal auditing of HACCP
  • Sound working knowledge of BRC and customer codes of practice, animal welfare requirements and industry standards
  • Ability to provide sound technical knowledge on all food safety issues
  • The ability to influence people at all levels, internal and external
