Vickerstock are delighted to bring to you an exceptional opportunity for an Operations Manager (Food Production) with our County Tyrone based client.

As a successful Operations Manager (Food Production) role holder you will plan, manage, and control daily production requirements utilising resources to ensure goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to customer standards.

Your new role as an Operations Manager;

  • Establish production processes for all product lines and identify methods of improving efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure customer expectations for quality and delivery are met on time and in full.
  • Ensure effective implementation of BRC standards and compliance with safety, health and environmental legislation.
  • Adopt a hands-on role in recruiting, training, managing, motivating and directing the production workforce.
  • Establish, implement and manage effective systems for the ordering of goods and raw materials, stock control and rotation that minimises stockholding quantities yet is suitably timed to ensure uninterrupted production of all the company's product lines.
  • Manage the market demand and production volumes of the company's product lines and draw up efficient production schedules according to sales forecasts.
  • Manage and oversee the maintenance and servicing of the production lines to minimise down time and maximise the efficiency and working life of all production equipment and machinery.
  • Devise a budgeted cyclical maintenance and servicing plan for the production lines to ensure their efficient and effective operation.
  • Control all spare parts for production machinery and equipment as necessary.
  • Set up working systems which minimise loss of packaging materials during the production process.
  • Support the Product Development team and assist in carrying out production trials.
  • Handle all production issues relating to new product launches.
  • Provide regular production information and performance reports.

What you will need to succeed as an Operations Manager;


  • The successful candidate will be educated to Degree level in a Food related discipline
  • Proven Management experience in a high volume food production environment
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to coach, develop and motivate teams to achieve an overall top line objective.
  • A transformational leadership style with a proven track record of implementing a best in class strategy.
  • Hands on individual, 'not afraid to get hands dirty' approach
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and professional presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen


  • Continuous Improvement qualification
  • Advanced Food Hygiene & HACCP certification
  • Train the Trainer accreditation
  • Practical experience of machinery and services
