Vickerstock are delighted to be working with a local consultancy to support in the recruitment of an experienced Civil Engineer with a background in Hydraulic Modelling. Operating in the water and environmental engineering sectors the business can offer core services that includes Drainage and SuDS, Flood Risk and River Modelling, Hydrology and Geo-environmental / Contaminated Land. Although a small practice, under the guidance of the founding director, this business has firmly established themselves as an industry leader, working on major projects throughout the UK and Ireland, while also taking an active role in industry steering groups and committees.
Your new role as a Civil Engineer (Hydraulic Modeller);
Due to ongoing expanding workload in the UK and Ireland including substantial recent public sector flood management commissions and major private development projects, the business has a need to support the flood risk modelling team at all levels. Responsibilities will be dependent on your level, project workload includes natural flood management planning, strategic flood risk assessment, flood risk investigation, flood alleviation, flood risk development advice and surface water management planning.
What you will need to succeed as a Civil Engineer (Hydraulic Modeller);
- A degree in Civil Engineering along with a minimum of 3-years post graduate experience working within hydraulic / flood modelling;
- As a minimum, you will have begun working towards chartered status with a relevant professional body. Senior candidates will be expected to have achieved this;
- Experience using Innovyze products (ICM, CS, RS), Flood Modeller, Tuflow, HEC RAS 2D or MIKE;
